Health and food safety

The EU policy in the fields of health and safety aims at promoting and protecting public health, food safety and the environment and a well-functioning and fair internal market in food, feed, agricultural and medicinal products.

To ensure that unnecessary costs are removed and rules are as effective and efficient as possible, since 2015 under REFIT, 24 initiatives have been adopted and 4 are pending adoption. Moreover, 9 evaluations have been finalised and 6 are ongoing.
