Commission proposal: on-going, to be adopted in 2023
This initiative aims at revising the plant reproductive material (PRM) and forest reproductive material (FRM) legislation to align it with the political objectives of the European Green Deal and its Farm to fork, biodiversity, EU climate adaptation, European digital and new EU forest strategies. It aims to remove barriers from the internal market and support technical developments, the creation of sustainable and climate-resilient agri-food systems and forests, and the conservation of biodiversity and of plant and forest genetic resources. The initiative will streamline procedures and reduce burden for the competent authorities and the EU plant and forest reproductive material industry.
