INSPIRE Registry

The INSPIRE application schema register contains all application schemas of the consolidated INSPIRE UML data model.

The INSPIRE code list register contains the code lists and their values, as defined in the INSPIRE implementing rules on interoperability of spatial data sets and services (Commission Regulation (EU) No 1089/2010). NOTE: It does not yet include references to external code lists and the additional code lists and extended values proposed in the Data Specification Technical Guidelines.

The INSPIRE coordinate reference systems register contains the coordinate reference systems allowed for the provision of INSPIRE spatial datasets and services, including their identifiers, while references the geodetic codes and parameters needed to describe them, as defined in the INSPIRE implementing rule on interoperability of spatial data sets and services (Commission Regulation (EU) No 1089/2010).

The INSPIRE enumeration register contains the enumerations and their values, as defined in the INSPIRE implementing rules on interoperability of spatial data sets and services (Commission Regulation (EU) No 1089/2010).

The INSPIRE extensibility register contains the extensibility values used to indicate whether and how a code list may be extended. It specifies whether the allowed values comprise only the values listed in the register or may also include additional values defined by data providers.

The INSPIRE Feature Concept Dictionary (IFCD) acts as a common feature concept dictionary for all INSPIRE data specifications. The common feature concept dictionary contains terms and definitions required for specifying thematic spatial object types and it is main role is in particular to support the harmonisation effort and to identify conflicts between the specifications of the spatial object types in the different themes.

The INSPIRE Glossary contains general terms and definitions that specify the common terminology used in the INSPIRE Directive and in the INSPIRE Implementing Rules documents. The glossary supports the use of a consistent language in different documents when referring to the terms.

Level at which the item is governed.

The INSPIRE layer register contains all the harmonised layer, as defined in the "COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 1089/2010 of 23 November 2010 implementing Directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards interoperability of spatial data sets and services" together with its amendments.

This register contains media types used for spatial data sets in INSPIRE, in particular in INSPIRE download services. Whenever media types exist that are registered with IANA or are in the registration process these are used. For all other formats, no commonly used media type exists and INSPIRE has to - at least temporarily - define their own types. In accordance with the rules for media types in RFC 2046/RFC 4288, these start with "x-". At this time, all entries in this register have the status 'valid'. Media types that are no longer recommended for use will be marked as 'deprecated', but will always be kept in this register as download services may still be using deprecated media types.

The INSPIRE metadata code list register contains the code lists and their values, as defined in the INSPIRE implementing rules on metadata (Commission Regulation (EC) No 1205/2008).

This register provides unique identifiers for documents or parts of documents (e.g. chapters or tables) used in INSPIRE. These may include the INSPIRE legal acts, technical guidelines and other documents (e.g. documents containing code list values for externally managed INSPIRE code lists).

The INSPIRE status register contains the status values used to indicate the validity and lifecycle of items in the INSPIRE registers.

The INSPIRE theme register contains all spatial data themes, as defined in the Annexes of the INSPIRE Directive ( Directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2007 establishing an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community (INSPIRE)). The descriptions of the themes are based on version 3.0 of the "Definition of Annex Themes and Scope (D 2.3)" by the data specifications drafting team and subsequent updates by the INSPIRE Thematic Working Groups (TWGs).
