Europass is a multilingual European framework developed to support the transparency and understanding of skills and qualifications acquired in formal, non-formal and informal settings, through education, practical experiences, mobility and volunteering. Europass consists of web-based tools and services. This included information provision to support the European dimension of helping users to better understand, communicate and present their skills and qualifications. Europass also offers guidance on how to improve learning and career development, and offers tools to facilitate the comparison and recognition of qualifications.
Europass Vocabularies consist of a set of simplified, re-usable and extensible collections of labels that provide a standardised classification of various credential characteristics. They are primarily used to document Europass Digital Credentials and Europass Learning Opportunities in a transparent way. Any entity wishing to be interoperable with these services can benefit from using the Europass Learning Model.
ESCO (European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations) is the multilingual classification of European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations.
The aim of ESCO is to support job mobility across Europe and therefore a more integrated and efficient labour market, by offering a “common language” on occupations and skills that can be used by different stakeholders dealing with employment, education and training topics.
