The 20260923-0 regular publication is now available. It includes updates to numerous assets, including Corporate body, Countries and territories, the European Science Vocabulary and the Digital Europa Thesaurus among others. Find out more in the release list.

As part of the transition of INSPIRE infrastructure components to EU horizontal services, the migration of the content of the INSPIRE Registry to EU Vocabularies that started on 1st of July 2026 has now been completed. As of 16 September 2026, browsing the content of the INSPIRE Registry is even more intuitive: users can access the INSPIRE Registry content directly in EU Vocabularies. Visualizing the data is also possible with ShowVoc, now integrated on the dataset details page (‘Advanced View’ tab).

A User Tutorial with guidance on how to use EU Vocabularies and ShowVoc is available here. All URIs remain unchanged and will continue to resolve.

The 4.24 version of EuroVoc is now available on EU Vocabularies. The release also includes revisions and updates to the existing Wikidata alignment. Details of the changes can be found in the release notes under the “Release notes” tab of EuroVoc on EU Vocabularies.

Following the INSPIRE Registry content transition to EU Vocabularies, a ShowVoc tutorial was prepared and is now available here with examples from the INSPIRE registers.

Key INSPIRE infrastructure components are being moved to EU services as
part of a wider effort to rationalise and streamline EU’s data infrastructure. An important milestone in this transition concerns the INSPIRE Registry.

The INSPIRE infrastructure involves items which require clear descriptions and the possibility to be referenced through unique identifiers. Examples of such items include INSPIRE themes, code lists, application schemas or discovery services. Registers provide a means to assign identifiers to items and their labels, definitions and descriptions (in different languages). The INSPIRE Registry provides a central access point to a number of centrally managed INSPIRE registers. The content of these registers are based on the INSPIRE Directive, Implementing Rules and Technical Guidelines.

As of 1 July 2026, the INSPIRE Registry is accessible here, securing continued access to controlled vocabularies, code lists and other semantic assets.
