The report presents the results of a project to support the Commission in the preparation of a legislative proposal by identifying options to (i) streamline chemical-related data flows and improve data interoperability, dissemination and re-use, (ii) improve the implementation of the legal requirement to consider all available data in a chemical safety assessment and (iii) establish a mechanism to enable monitoring and data generation for the purposes of chemical safety assessments under the European chemicals regulatory framework. The report discusses different options and their impacts and reflects the contributions made by stakeholders in the context of the study. The findings are based on an extensive review of existing legislation and literature, targeted consultations with Commission Directorates General and representatives of EU agencies, and public stakeholder consultations.
