The Commission is undertaking an ex-post evaluation of the Airport Charges Directive (Directive 2009/12/EC). The evaluation covers the period since 15 March 2009 when the Directive entered into force. The Commission requested this study to include the airports (79 in 2015) covered by the Directive in EU28, Norway, Iceland and Switzerland. This study provides the Commission with an independent, evidence-based assessment of the application of the Airport Charges Directive.
