Seventh Framework Programme: activities of the Joint Research Centre (JRC)

EUROPA - Summaries of EU legislation - The main aim of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) is to provide scientific and technical support for the policies of the European Union. More specifically, it acts as an interface between technological research and the practical applications of this research in Community policies. In preparation for the Seventh Framework Programme, a Specific Programme has been drawn up defining the activities of the JRC. This document describes the features and general objectives of the programme and the main activities which it comprises.
