One year on : civil society: awareness, opportunities and challenges

This report is based on responses from 103 organisations. Respondents represent a wide range of CSOs, most of which do not work specifically in the field of privacy and data protection. This paper, which presents their replies, contributes to an overall assessment by the European Commission of the impact of the GDPR. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has applied across the EU since 25 May 2018. One year on, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) asked the civil society organisations (CSOs) that are part of the agency’s Fundamental Rights Platform to answer a short online questionnaire about the impact of the GDPR on their daily work.
