Strategic Research and Innovation Plan (SRIP) for safe and sustainable chemicals and materials

The Strategic Research and Innovation Plan (SRIP) highlighted research and innovation (R&I) needs crucial for accelerating the transition to safe and sustainable chemicals and materials. The current report describes a methodology for monitoring EU R&I funding allocated to the different chapters of the SRIP. This study encompassed the identification of the project portfolio by CORTEX, a Commission-developed text-mining tool, the evaluation of projects for relevance by an expert group and the analysis of results. The findings of this study are a snapshot of the areas where R&I funding relevant for the SRIP components is currently invested through Horizon Europe and other Framework Programmes. It is expected to contribute towards tracking and monitoring the successful implementation of the SRIP and evaluating its impact on the R&I for chemicals and materials.
