Éire-Cork: Architectural and related services
Gastroenterology services in Cork will be reconfigured and centralized at MUH in order to maximize potential both in quality and capacity. A single consultant team will work together to deliver acute day care, diagnostics and more complex therapeutic procedures, located in this regional centre.
A two storey building is required accommodating 6 endoscopy suites and associated support spaces including pre and post procedure areas along with decontamination facilities, clinical measurement laboratory and teaching space. The overall floor area is approx 2500 m2 Net
The build will make provision for future expansion. Foundations will meet the capacity for potentially a five storey building. The site is located in the city centre close to Bachelors Quay. It is immediately adjacent to an acute general hospital. This is a constricted site located near residential apartments with traffic and pedestrian issues. Parking is not available.
The site is located adjacent to the River Lee. Road access to the site will primarily be from the West or North of the city.
There are a number of existing underground services that will need to be linked in with the new build (gas, electricity etc). The development will also be linked into the existing acute hospital building. Refer to full suite of documents for detailed Scope of Services.
