The European Data Conference on Reference Data and Semantics, ENDORSE, intends to build bridges between administration, research and the private sector and find a way towards a Europe where data can flow across the Member States and across sectors, for the benefit of all. The conference presents an opportunity to contribute to the digital transformation of the public sector in Europe by fostering discussions about the future of data management in public services.
The inaugural ENDORSE event in 2021 set a precedent by creating a platform for lively exchanges on standards, semantics and interoperability in the reference data domain. It brought together researchers, professionals from the private sector, and officials from national public administrations and international organisations such as the EU institutions and the United Nations. Discussions focused on emerging trends in data science, practical use-cases for reference data, and cutting-edge semantic technologies.
Building on this foundation, the Publications Office of the European Union, in collaboration with Interoperable Europe and supported by the Digital Europe Programme, presented the second edition of ENDORSE in March 2023. The second edition focused on a range of topics, from the management of multilingual reference data to linked open data, and firmly established ENDORSE as a unique event for fostering dialogue and collaboration in the reference data and semantics community.
