This independent evaluation aims to provide an assessment of EU-Myanmar development cooperation and to identify lessons and provide recommendations to inform current and future choices for the EU’s cooperation strategy, delivery and interventions, including the next joint programming exercise in Myanmar. The report focuses on four focal sectors: education, peacebuilding, governance, and rural development. It covers strategic relevance, instruments and modalities, cross-cutting issues, coherence of EU’s engagements, and coordination with other actors. The report shows that the choice of focal sectors was appropriate and relevant, as the four sectors were mutually reinforcing.
