The basic activity of the Agency consists in the publicizing of the events carried out in the country and abroad, the correct, equidistant, transparent informing and the ensuring of the pluralism of opinions. Also, another duty is to ensure the dissemination of information (pieces of news, interviews, running commentaries, photo-running commentaries) from the first source to foreign news agencies. At the same time, another important activity of the Public Institution Moldpres State News Agency is the one of editing and printing the Official Journal of Moldova. |

Moldpres’ basic task is to produce stories, running commentaries, interviews, photo-running commentaries, immortalize events in pictures and archiving of photographs. In the context, the Agency has a unique collection of photos, which dates back from early 1990s till present. Moldpres printed both on paper and on canvas diverse portraits, such as the one of Stephen the Great, the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova, diverse printed works, etc.
At the same time, the Moldpres State News Agency has its own conference hall for the organization of diverse events, which can be used including for meetings, seminars, book presentations, trainings, public lectures, roundtables, press clubs, etc. The hall is let out to people interested against an advantageous price, depending on the services demanded. The conference hall is endowed with strong lights, projectors of light, microphones, chairs, projector of pictures, working table, etc. The hall’s capacity of 50 people at the most. Also, Moldpres has a photo and video studio, which is used by the Agency for professional activities specific for journalism.
The Official Journal, the only official publication of the state, public structure of national interest, is edited and printed by Moldpres. In line with the provisions of the Law No 173-XIII from 6 July 1994 on the way of publication and entrance into force of the official acts, the Official Journal edits the laws, decisions of the parliament, decrees of Moldova’s president, decisions, instructions of the government, of the Constitutional Court and the Court of Accounts, the normative acts of the central specialty bodies of public administration, of the National Bank of Moldova and of the National Commission of Financial Market. If necessary, other official documents are published in Official Journal as well.
Presently, the Official Journal appears at least twice per week in printed form and electronically. It is made up of five parts, of which the first three ones are in free access for all citizens, for the online format, and the last two – against payment. As for the printed variant, Moldpres sells the issues of the Official Journal in line with the tariffs approved by the founder, both for the printed format and for the electronic one, for which people can benefit from a subscription package. |
