Call for innovation competition for orthopaedic aids
BARMER and Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) maintain joint contracts pursuant to Paragraph 127(1) of the SGB V for the supply of orthopaedic technology products to their insured persons. In these contracts, the supply of aids from the product areas 05 bandages 17 compression therapy aids 23 orthoses 24 leg prostheses 37 breast prostheses 38 arm prostheses is agreed. From the point of view of the aforementioned health insurance companies, it is urgent that all actors involved in the care go into exchanges together about securing the care in the future and its design. The participating health insurance funds ask interested service providers, manufacturers and interest groups from the above-mentioned care sectors to participate in an idea competition focusing on - care processes - digitalisation, if necessary, taking into account the use of artificial intelligence (AI) - the threat of a lack of skilled workers / security of supply in rural areas - sustainability (improving or establishing reuse/preparation processes) - billing procedures, taking into account the legal standards applicable to the provision of medical aids. TK is the point of contact in this context. Interested service providers can place their concepts and ideas informally by e-mail at the following address: For technical questions, please contact Hilfs-vertrag@tk.de We kindly ask you to submit concepts by 31.08.2026 with the subject "Ideas competition OT". This is not a limitation period
