Združeno kraljestvo-Nottingham: Sistem za opazovanje pacientov
NUH wished to enter into a 3 year contract for the provision of Intercranial Pressure (ICP) Monitors.
ICP monitoring is the most widely used intracranial monitor because prevention and control of increased ICP and maintenance of cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP) are fundamental therapeutic goals after Traumatic Brain Injury. In our practice it represents a ‘gold standard' of care for our patients.
More recently additional adjuncts to prevention of secondary brain injury have been developed which allow manipulation of physiological parameters such as brain oxygenation (PbtO2) and direct brain temperature manipulation. These have now been shown to reduce cerebral ischemia and hypoxia and improve patient outcome (Dagal & Lam - Current Opinion in Anaesthesiology 2011 24:131-137; C.L.Ho et al - J.Neurosurg. Vol 108 May 2008; A.MSpiotta et al. J.Neurosurg. Vol 113 May 2010; LE.Bohman et al. Neurocrit Care 2011 14:361-369; Intracranial Pressure. trauma.org 5:1 2000).
