The 2022 edition of the EU industrial R&D investment scoreboard reports on the world’s top 2500 R&D investors and the EU 1000 R&D investors. It is a tool to benchmark EU companies against their global competitors in terms of R&D investment, understand industrial R&D dynamics and monitor trends going back up to ten years. The results of the 2022 Scoreboard reveal challenges and opportunities for the EU as it seeks to improve its technology capabilities and reinvigorate its industrial base in the context of increasing global competition pressure and ongoing green and digital transformations.
