Regatul Unit-Birmingham: Servicii de catering pentru şcoli
The successful tenderer will be required to provide catering services at Erdington Hall Primary School.
The catering service provision at Erdington Hall Primary School has never been market tested and to ensure Best Value principles are applied the Head Teacher and School Sponsors have made a decision to tender the catering service. The School recently gained Academy status and is one of several other schools within the Ninestiles Academy consortia and therefore needs to ensure Best Value principles are achieved.
The School is located in a suburb of Erdington, Birmingham, and currently has 457 pupils on role with 62 teaching and support staff. Over 50 % of the pupil population are Asian, 20 % White British,13 % Black origin with the remaining 17% made up from other cultural backgrounds. This should be taken into consideration when planning menus and the daily food offer.
The School has an onsite production kitchen which requires some inward investment. Options should be considered in return for a 3 or 5 year contract term.
Six staff are currently employed by the incumbent contractor to manage and oversee the lunchtime service and therefore TUPE Regulations will apply to this contract. Current uptake levels are circa 50 % with an annual turnover figure of circa 80 000 GBP. The School firmly believes that with improved choice and quality there is a real opportunity to increase this level of uptake. The initial contract term will be for 3 years with an option to extend by 2 years depending on Governors' / Sponsors' approval.
The School is striving towards being an ‘Outstanding' School in the future and the key objective of this tendering exercise is to find a contractor who can parallel this philosophy and deliver a high quality catering service to the pupils, staff and guardians of Erdington Hall Primary School.
