This summary contains the key findings of the synthesis of mid-term evaluations (MTEs) of the 92 national, regional and network rural development programmes (RDPs) 2007-2013, funded under the European agricultural fund for rural development (EAFRD) of the European Commission. The aim of this study was to assess and summarise the results and impacts achieved by the RDPs to date, and to evaluate the monitoring and evaluation framework’s relevance, coherence, effectiveness and efficiency including its strengths and weaknesses for future policy design. The report draws conclusions and makes recommendations in relation to the current and upcoming programming periods.
