Following up from the 6th EU-AU Summit, our investments in the Great Green Wall Initiative are supporting the development of a mosaic of green and productive landscapes across 18 countries in the Sahel and the Horn of Africa. This tackles several EU and African objectives at the same time, such as on food security, sustainable agri-food systems, water, addressing desertification, climate change and biodiversity loss, sustainable energy, and decent job generation. We also support the comprehensive and integrated vision of the Great Green Wall Accelerator Strategy, seeking to ultimately foster resilience, stability and sustainable development throughout the focal region.
