HomeAssistance for the implementation of performance and charging schemes for the single European sky for oversight competences

15 years ago the EU launched the Single European Sky (SES) initiative, which has been one of the key priorities of the European Commission’s overall transport policy. As a result, the performance of air navigation services has improved through stronger integration and higher efficiency. Yet, cost-efficiency remains an area where improvements are needed. In the light of recommendations made by the European Court of Auditors in its November 2017 Special Report on the Single European Sky, the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) launched a project which aimed to provide additional support in capacity-building to aid the National Supervisory Authorities (NSAs) in their tasks to verify the eligibility of Air Navigation Services (ANS) costs to be charged to airspace users. This report presents the objectives of the project and provides a detailed description of the deliverables, which are all included in annex.
