Subject:  The directorate is responsible for both financial risks and non-financial risks relating to the EIB Group’s business. Such risks include credit, market, liquidity and funding risks, operational risk as well as climate risk, reputational risk and strategic risk. Operational risks include those relating to ICT, compliance, conduct, insurance, data protection and outsourcing, and thus related policies on ethics, codes of conduct, whistleblowing, anti-money laundering, combating the financing of terrorism and non-compliant jurisdictions. The directorate independently identifies, assesses, monitors and reports on the risks to which the Bank is exposed in its capacity as an independent second line of defence with direct access to the Bank’s governing bodies.
