The Accelerated Investment Project (AIP) will rationalise facilities and substantially accelerate the refurbishment of ESOC. It will secure the future of specialised infrastructure required for the transformation of ESOC's mission control infrastructure. It will deliver state of the art general purpose facilities and respond to sustainability targets established in Agenda 2025.The AIP (ESOC) is divided in 3 phases, the first of which includes the construction of a new Missions Operations building (Building U).As first part of Phase A, the activities leading to the construction of the ESA Future Mission Control Centre (ESOC Building U) started with the design and engineering phase in Q2/2024 and will continue with the construction of this building, which is the subject of the present procurement proposal. The contract will include the construction of the Building, the sustainability objective of being awarded a LEED Platinum certification, the highest level of environmental sustainability in the LEED certificate classification.
