Animal calls. Dog kennel services. East Staffordshire Borough Council and Tamworth Borough Council are seeking suitably qualified Candidates to bid for the provision of their Stray Dog Control services. The Councils have a statutory duty under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to provide services for the effective and efficient seizure, collection, kennelling and re-homing of stray dogs within the Boroughs of East Staffordshire and Tamworth. The Contract will ensure that the Councils are able to fulfil their statutory functions relating to stray dogs, but will also ensure animal welfare objectives are met. On average, East Staffordshire Borough Council and Tamworth Borough Council collect about 300 and 250 stray dogs per year respectively. Re-homing figures are approximately 70 for East Staffordshire Borough Council and 60 for Tamworth Borough Council respectively. The Contract is divided into TWO lots covering each of the geographical locations: LOT 1: Collection, Kennelling and Re-homing of Stray Dogs for East Staffordshire Borough Council LOT 2: Collection, Kennelling and Re-homing of Stray Dogs for Tamworth Borough Council Applicants are invited to apply for both or either individual Lots.
