The subject of the contract will be the performance of the service consisting of the ‘Study of the delimitation, characterisation and dissemination of the coraligen community and the monitoring of the conservation status of protected algal species of the genera Treptacantha, Carpodesmia and Gelidium’, in order to have the precise and necessary information to be able to undertake the management of species and habitats of the Canarian coast, both from the point of view of their structure and their conservation status and threats, which contributes to achieving a good state of conservation of ecosystems through their ecological restoration when necessary, and to reverse the loss of biodiversity, guaranteeing a sustainable use of natural resources and the preservation and improvement of their ecosystem services. It contributes by developing part of investment 2 ‘Conservation of terrestrial and marine biodiversity’ provided for therein.
