LXS First Lounge & Special Processes - 211 Scaffolding
Between Terminal 2 and Bus Gate Süd B15 at Zurich Airport, a new connecting building is being built to replace the previous Passerelle. This new building improves the connection of the bus gate on level G1 and also offers special areas on level G0 for first class and PRM passengers. For First Class travellers, a turbine bar will also be set up on the top floor G2, which is part of the new Swiss First Class Lounge. The connection construction is designed for various special processes to meet the different requirements of the passenger groups. These include optimized control processes and covered parking spaces for sedans and special vehicles. As part of this project, the shell area for the future Swiss First Class Lounge and the full expansion for the PRM waiting area will be prepared in Terminal 2 on floor G1. The technical facilities for the lounge are mainly housed on floor G3 of Terminal 2. New requirements such as a smoking lounge require additional technical facilities that can be accommodated in the southern technical courtyard. The new building in the G2 will have its own technical room with electrical supply and ventilation technology. Constructively, the connection construction is based on the neighbouring buildings: The load-bearing structure consists of steel beams, the ceilings are made of hollow plates with over-concrete. The design is deliberately chosen in such a way that the new building is visually perceived as an integrated part of the existing building, both externally and internally. The façade design is based on the Bus Gate B15, and materials from the adjacent buildings are also used in the interior design.
