Description

The primary school Lützen is the primary school in the primary center. It forms the Lützen school campus together with the Gustav-Adolf Free Comprehensive School, which exists on the common site. In order to safeguard public services of general interest in the long term, to pursue the objectives of spatial planning and to expand the Lützen school campus, as well as to preserve the monument of the former Lützen District Court, structural measures at the Pestalozzistraße 2 building in Lützen are absolutely necessary. The elementary school Lützen is located in the listed and renovated building of Pestalozzistraße 4 in Lützen (House 1). The aim is to train the location of the elementary school Lützen as a two-course school over all 4 grade levels. The former district court of Lützen (House 2, Pestalozzistraße 2) is to be included as an integral part of the spatial use planning and the renovation measures are to be considered as a whole on the building complex. The aim of the energy-efficient renovation is to achieve the KfW energy efficiency house standard ‘Monument’. The planned refurbishment measures on the building envelope of the former district court are carried out in consultation with the Lower Monument Protection Authority of the Burgenlandkreis and the State Office for Monument Conservation and Archaeology. Built in 1890 as a district court with a prison wing, the building was used as a secondary school or grammar school from 1947 to 1999. The building is the first well-known court building and the first grammar school of particular importance in the history of the city. The building referred to as House 2 of the Lützen Elementary School is located on plot 379/88 in corridor 2 of the Lützen district. The plot covers 1,418 m2. It is listed as a single monument in the list of monuments of Saxony-Anhalt with the characteristics ‘conspicuous two-storey brick building with central risalite, in gable centre cartridge, decorated window walls, dated 1899’. It belongs together with the city center to the designated area monument. Therefore, refurbishment with regard to the design preservation of the building-time condition is in the foreground, so that the essential building regulations and fire protection technical boundary conditions can be derived from the building regulations of the state of Saxony-Anhalt. All measures are aimed at the preservation of the monument. The former district court Lützen consists of 3 building parts: the main wing, the middle wing and the side wing.
