81308790-Desarrollo de capacidades, comunicación, monitoreo y evaluación para ProIgualdad en Bolivia
In Bolivia, there is political will and the willingness of relevant key actors in different sectors to promote gender equality and LGBTIQA+ rights. Gender justice and human rights principles are enshrined in Bolivia's national laws. In addition, there are respective guidelines and strategic plans in the areas of education, business and media, among others. The ProIgualdad project, which will run from 05/2024 to 04/2027, builds on these potentials and will address structural and social obstacles through technical cooperation with relevant stakeholders, building their capacities and competencies in close interaction with target groups in the areas of education, business and media. The project supports key actors to critically question patriarchal gender norms and behavioural patterns, to condemn gender-based violence and discrimination, and to initiate social dialogue and information exchange in this regard. By anchoring specific mechanisms, standards and methodologies in their respective institutions, the aim will be to strengthen the contribution of key actors in the education, business and media sectors for the promotion of gender equality and LGBTIQA+ rights (overall project objective). The project consists of three outputs with the following objectives: 1. integrate principles of gender equality and LGBTIQA+ rights in teaching practices and curricula in primary and secondary schools in three different parts of the country; 2. strengthen the implementation of relevant standards in state and private companies at the national level; 3. disseminate relevant media and communication products to the general population and to institutional actors. Methodologically, the project adopts an intersectional, inclusive and gender-transformative approach that addresses discriminatory structures, gender norms and practices, by involving multiple stakeholders in the education, business and media sectors. The project will be implemented in La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz and will work with management and technical staff from companies, as well as stakeholders from the education and media sectors, who act as intermediaries to reach girls, women and LGBTIQA+ people, who are mainly affected by gender-based and intersectional discrimination, social and economic inequality and violence. The project will also engage with family members, boys and men as active agents of change. The political counterpart of the project will the Vice-Ministry of Equal Opportunities (VIO) of the Bolivian Ministry of Justice and Institutional Transparency, which will coordinate the key actors through a multi-stakeholder platform in cooperation with the GIZ project team.
