Acquisition of vector analyzer networks up to 110 GHz. frequency
The Institute of Nanofotonic Technology (NTC) of the UPV proposes the acquisition of a vector network analyzer with the capacity to increase in frequency up to 110GHz and that is intended for use in a point station. This technology is key in the process of verification and testing of electronic and photonic devices created in the facilities (White Room) of the center or providing services external devices. The vector network analyzer will allow the tip station to generate test signals of up to 110GHz and characterize through a complete analysis the behavior of the devices under test in the frequency bands of interest depending on their application. The applications on which this team will focus will be to test the final functionality of RF and/or photonic circuits included in microprocessors, I/O chips, high-speed telecommunications systems, or the testing of advanced circuits for space and defense issues. Having such a team would facilitate access by the institute's research groups to competitive research projects that are currently hindered by the lack of such equipment. The requested infrastructure would put the facilities of the NTC in first technological level and on par with leading centers in photonics and communications. The acquisition of this equipment ACQUISITION OF VECTORIAL NETWORK ANALYZER WITH FREQUENCY EXTENSORS UP TO 110 GHz., is linked to the project “ICTS MICRONANOFABS- NTC- STRATEGIC PLAN 2021-2024” financed by the direct grant award of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, according to Royal Decree 714/2024, of 23 July. This grant is financed by the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility, established by Council Regulation (EU) 2020/2094 of 14 December 2020 establishing a European Union Recovery Instrument to support the recovery in the aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis, and regulated by Regulation (EU) 2021/241 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 February 2021 establishing the Recovery and Resilience Facility. This financing is legally linked to the implementation of the actions included in the aforementioned component 17 of the RRP. The action is also part of the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation of Microelectronics and Semiconductors (PERTE Chip), approved by the Council of Ministers on 24 May 2022. Specifically, the activities that will be carried out are integrated into action 1 of Axis I of this PERTE (Development of R+D+i on cutting-edge microprocessors and alternative architectures).
