The Laeiszhalle was donated by the shipping couple Carl and Sophie Laeisz and executed by the architects M. Haller and W.E. Meerwein 1904 - 1908 in the style of the Neo-Baroque. According to the turn of the century, clinker masonry with rich sandstone ornaments was chosen as the external design elements.
