Description

BGW is currently operating its fixed-line telephony on the basis of a language framework contract with Deutsche Telekom Business Solutions GmbH (‘Telekom’) and intends to completely switch its existing telecommunications infrastructure to a cloud-based communication solution as part of a strategic realignment. The aim is an integrated ‘cloud ‑ only’ approach, where all voice communication services, including network connectivity, connection management, security architecture and mobile integration, are delivered without dedicated infrastructure in data centres. This presupposes that both the network-side services and the necessary software ‑ and service solutions, including complementary services, are sourced from a single source and closely interlinked technically and operationally. At the same time, the contracting authority is currently undergoing a restructuring to meet its IT needs, including those covered by this contract. In the course of this, it is planned that the client will be provided with the required IT services by BG-Phoenics GmbH, whose co-partner the client will become together with the other cooperation partners, as part of a cooperation association with other professional associations. Cooperation will begin in October 2026. The transition to service provision is currently being prepared for the new structure. The new structure is intended to increase synergies by consolidating the needs of the participating cooperation partners. As soon as the cooperation goes live, BG-Phoenics will provide the client with the necessary telephony services, although the timeline for this cannot yet be determined conclusively. With regard to telephony services, BG-Phoenics GmbH cooperates with Telekom as a service provider.
