Description

Radiation dosimeters. Dosimeters. Apparatus for measuring radiation. Radiation monitors. Radiation protection services. BSUH currently supplies about 30 000 whole body dosemeters each year to approximately 4 000 wearers in the UK. The dosemeters are issued for 1, 2 or 3 month wear period before being returned for processing. We also supply about 4 500 extremity dosemeters per year to about 400 wearers. Our clients undertake all types of activity with ionising radiations (e.g. healthcare, academic research and development, industry and the private sector etc). BSUH will be replacing the whole body (film badge) service with a compatible dosemeter which is suitable for HSE approval and will be supported by the manufacturer for at least 20 years. The objective is to offer the new service to our customers with no increase in our routine charges. The contract will be for dosemeters and associated equipment and software to allow us to continue to provide a whole body dosimetry service.
