Description

The content of the service contract to be tendered is the implementation of monitoring of sea and coastal birds, marine mammals and uses/disruptions of areas in the Schleswig-Holstein Baltic Sea. The focus areas are the three nature reserves to be designated, in particular with a view to the adoption of a driving ordinance. The basic objective is to record the resting bird populations (seabirds and coastal birds) and their spatial and temporal distribution in the planned nature reserves and their vicinity in the Baltic Sea. Hierbei sollen insbesondere die im Winterhalbjahr erhobenen, landbasierten Wasservogelzählungen um Beobachtungen auf den von Land aus schwer einsehbaren Ostseeflächen ergänzt werden. With the recording of the resting bird populations, a visual monitoring of marine mammals and a description of the current uses and disturbances in the areas is to be carried out at the same time. Area-specific data will be collected in order to record the spatial distribution of certain species in the areas to be strictly protected, to identify conflicts with existing uses and to be able to control and regulate future use accordingly.
