Description

The city of Göttingen intends to build a new fire station for the Geismar local fire brigade (approximately 792 m ² usable area, 5 vehicles). Currently, the Geismar local fire brigade and the Geismar branch of the city administration of Göttingen are located on a plot of land (Kerllsgasse 2). The access situation to the property and the buildings as well as the parking space situation on the property is cramped. The existing buildings have a high need for repairs. The city of Göttingen is therefore planning the construction of the fire brigade building as a demand-oriented new construction measure on the directly adjacent corner property Hauptstraße / Kerllsgasse, so that the existing alarm radius of the Geismar local fire brigade is maintained. The planned plot is currently being used as a greened public parking space. The existing building of the Geismar local fire brigade cannot and should not be dismantled until the completion of the new building. In the future, the parking spaces will be located on this vacant area in the southwestern area of the competition area. There are also covered and lockable parking spaces for bicycles and cargo bikes. The aim of the competition is to find a suitable team of architect, landscape architect and engineer of technical equipment for the further planning services via alternative and optimized concepts that meet the different requirements in the same way.
