Printed books. School books. Textbooks. Dictionaries, maps, music books and other books. Digital versatile disks (DVDs). Miscellaneous software package and computer systems. The contract is for the supply of books (such as printed, school, and text books), maps, and other materials (particularly audio/visual materials) such as Compact Disks (CD's), Digital Versatile Disks (DVD's), and Miscellaneous Software Packages and computer systems.
The contract will be awarded on a 'framework agreement' basis. The decision on whether or not to participate in the framework will generally be taken by each establishment, most of whom now operate their own budgets.
Whilst initially for use by local authorities served by the Pro5 Group (a collaboration between CBC, NEPO, ESPO, YPO and the wider public sector), being Central Purchasing Bodies as defined by the EU Combined Procurement Directive 2004/18/EC, the Framework Agreement may also be open for use by the following classifications of user throughout all administrative regions of the UK: Local Authority Councils; Educational Establishments (including Academies); Police, Fire & Rescue and Coastguard Emergency Services; NHS and HSC Bodies, including Ambulance Services; Registered Charities; Registered Social Landlords.
