Description

Der Zweckverband beabsichtigt die Errichtung des "Dokumentationszentrums Tagebau Garzweiler". Direkt am Tagebau gelegen soll es ein lebendiger Ort sein, an dem der landschaftliche und kulturelle Wandel durch den Tagebau mit einem Ausstellungsbereich für Anwohner und Besucher aufgearbeitet und erlebbar ist. Das Gebäude ist dabei ein Teil des rings um den Tagebau wachsenden "Blau-Grünen Bands Garzweiler". Im August ist auf dem Grundstück des zukünftigen Dokumentationszentrums Tagebau Garzweiler der Abriss der Gebäude und Gewächshäuser einer ehemaligen Gärtnerei erfolgt. Im November und Dezember erfolgen weiteren Erdarbeiten in Vorbereitung auf den Tiefbau. Der Zweckverband LANDFOLGE Garzweiler beabsichtigt in Folge dessen, einen Auftrag für die Holzfassade für die Realisierung des zukünftigen Dokumentationszentrums Tagebau Garzweiler zu vergeben.
