National Rail v / Supply invites open tender competition for
purchase of licenses to IBM Maximo .
Supply is responsible to advertise , collect, evaluate and conclude
Rail Administration would offer support and maintenance for IBM software,
and purchase / hire additional licenses already purchased software.
National Rail has an extensive portfolio of applications that are to some extent
developed itself and partly based on commercially available software. Overall
sets make up this portfolio an extremely important part of business.
The applications in this portfolio makes extensive use of available software
from different vendors , and a relatively large proportion of this type
software are products from IBM.
In the short term it is not practicable or desirable to make great replacements for
the standard software that underlies Rail Administration solutions , and
it means that there will be a need for this software , which today is
installed and is a key component of the National Rail Administration system portfolio for several years
forward.
The purpose of this procurement is to ensure the necessary support and maintenance
on software from IBM that are included in these business critical applications .
Some further development of these applications is continuous and this implies
including the need for additional licenses for existing software. This supplementary
purchase will also be included in the contract .
It will in procurement emphasis on putting in place an agreement that ensures
predictable and acceptable costs of IBM's software in the contract period and
with a supplier who can ensure National Rail optimal conditions
both in terms of maintenance, additional license purchases .
