Description

1. Aim of performance
The aim of the project is to assess whether and to what extent the spread of invasive plant species in accordance with the IAS Regulation (Regulation (EU) No 1143/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2014 on the prevention and management of the introduction and spread of invasive alien species) affects endangered habitat types of Annex I to the Habitats Directive and species characterising LRTs. According to Saxony-Anhalt’s notification in the current 2019 Habitats Report, invasive species from the Union list are considered to be detrimental or endangering, in particular for LRT 3150 (‘Natural eutrophic lakes with magnopotamion or hydrocharition vegetation’). Occurrences of the neophytes narrow-leaved aquatic plague (Elodea nuttallii), different-leaved thousand-leaf (Myriophyllum heterophyllum) and alternating-leaf aquatic plague (Lagarosiphon major) have been documented in the past for the state of Saxony-Anhalt. There is a greater lack of knowledge about the current stock and the further spread of the previously reported neophyte stocks of the above species, especially outside the FFH area backdrop. Within the scope of the project, the current distribution and influence of the neophytic and invasive plant species Elodea nuttallii, Myriophyllum heterophyllum and Lagarosiphon major on the conservation status of the LRT as well as on the amphibian species characteristic of the LRT will be determined by modelling the LRT 3150. The pre-selection of the waters within the measuring table sheets to be recorded has already been carried out by the State Office for Environmental Protection.
The subject of this tender procedure is the recording of amphibians in 2023 in the waters north of Genthin (lot 1) pre-selected by the LAU.
