Description

As part of the management of its heritage of works of art, the Management of Heritage of Works of Art department of the Planning and Road Studies Directorate of the Departmental Council of the Ardennes is responsible for ensuring the maintenance and supervision of its works. The heritage managed by the Departmental Council of the Ardennes consists of 1152 structures (about 832 bridges and 320 walls). To know the state of the entire heritage, all these works regularly require the performance of Image Quality of Works of Art (IQOA) or Periodic Detailed Inspection (IDP) visits in accordance with the recommendations of the Technical Instruction on the supervision and maintenance of works of art (ITSEOA). This task includes: • Collection of data from the person responsible for the works of art, • Preparation of the visit or inspection, • Inspection of the works, • Drafting of reports, • Immediate alert in the event of imminent danger, • Dissemination of deliverables in paper and computer format, • Entering the status of the work in a database. These visits and inspections are to be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the ‘Technical Instruction for the Supervision and Maintenance of Works of Art’ of October 1979, amended in December 1995 and December 2010, the ‘Supporting Walls’ guide (March 2005) and the two IQOA guides ‘Classification of Works’ (May 1996) and ‘Guide de visite en subdivision’ (May 1996), and the guides ‘trenches and covers, inventory of works’ and the guide ‘trenches and covers, inspector’s guide’ (2014), all available on the CEREMA website.
