Description

The Minden-Lübbecke district will rebuild and energetically refurbish the visitor mine and Museum Kleinenbremen (BBMK) in order to bring the object to an up-to-date technical status. The Visitor Mine and Museum Kleinenbremen (BBMK) is the only authentically preserved iron ore mine and museum in the Westphalia region. The buildings on the property were built between 1935 and 1938 and reflect the architecture and industrial style of the period. The mining operation itself was active until 1957 and thus played an important role in the regional economy and culture. Today, interested parties can not only visit the historical sites, but also learn more about the techniques and challenges of mining. The BBMK is thus an important place for education and remembrance of the mining history in Westphalia.
