Supply and installation of a water treatment plant based on membrane filtration for reuse of WWTP effluent for drinking water in Aalst.
In the DEEPER BLUE project, the reuse of WWTP effluent into drinking water is linked to an underground buffering of the produced drinking water, the so-called Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) principle. Waterunie, the subsidiary of water companies Farys and De Watergroep, realizes this project at the Aalst WWTP in collaboration with Aquafin and supported by the research platform CAPTURE. This initiative is part of a programme of the Flemish Environment Agency that is part of the Blue Deal of the Flemish Government. DEEPER BLUE stands for ‘DEEP buffering for Effluent Reuse’.
