Description

The Real Acequia del Jarama dates from the sixteenth century, forming part of the agrarian, landscape and monumental project of the Real Sitio de Aranjuez, to strengthen agricultural and livestock production, and supply to Madrid and Toledo. These actions during the first third of the 20th century became administered and dependent on the Ministry of Public Works. In accordance with the provisions of the Technical Specifications, this file must be contracted in order to comply with Law 10/2001 of 5 July 2001 on the National Hydrological Plan, which includes in Annex II ‘List of investments’ the modernisation of the irrigation area of Real Acequia Jarama. The work to be carried out includes the collection of existing documentation and the carrying out of the studies and works necessary to complement it, as well as the carrying out of a study of alternatives.
