The two Mecana MSF 8/40 disc filters used so far (built in 2000) are located in the process engineering sequence of sub-plant 2 between the settling tanks and the distribution structure and have been in use since 2000. Since sub-plant 2 was commissioned in 2000, approximately 77 million m3 of flood water has flowed through the two disc filters. As a result of the previous load and the progressive corrosion, the filters have reached the technical durability. In order to ensure further plant operation until at least 2050, it is necessary to replace the two disc filters with identical units.
