D-Hanover: imaging equipment for medical, dental and veterinary use
The MHH’s nuclear medicine clinic has long-standing experience in PET and has been at the forefront of the development of this technology since the acquisition of a cyclotron in 1977. The focus of the university in regenerative and molecular medicine is leading to a high and ever-increasing demand for biological imaging. A new cyclotron is being installed together with a commercial partner. At the same time, a new GMP ice lab, a small animal imaging centre, and a new clinical PET centre are emerging.
A technology partnership will procure a high-performance PET-CT (technology band 1) and a further PET-CT (technology band 2). The aim is to complete the translational spectrum of PET, from radiochemistry to non-clinical to clinical use. The aim is to give the highly active scientific environment and the maximum clinical supply of MHHH access to quantitative PET imaging with high precision, in combination with contrast-reinforced CTs. In close collaboration between nuclear medicine, radiology, neuroradiology and cardiology, complex scientific and clinical issues of cardiac, brain and tumour diagnostics will be addressed.
In addition, in order to adapt to the current evolution towards integrated clinical diagnostics of function and morphology, a technology partnership will provide a SPECT/CT system with multi-head gamma camera and multi-line CT, as well as a gamma camera for rapid cardiovascular imaging. The devices will be interdisciplinary in order to answer clinical nuclear medicine diagnostic issues in cardiology, oncology and neurology, including high-quality morphological information.
In addition, the replacement of a sufficient number of gamma cameras and workstations necessary for the findings due to age will be integrated into the Technology Partnership.
In the field of clinical PET-CT diagnostic systems and conventional nuclear medicine (SPECT-CT, gamma cameras), one or more technology partners will be sought. The aim of this procurement project is to award this Technology Partnership(s). The contract will be awarded in the following two lots:
Lot 1 – PET-CT.
Lot 2 – conventional nuclear medicine (SPECT-CT/gamma cameras).
The procurement project is also intended to award equipment management (including all maintenance operations) for a total contractual period of 8 years. Publication is subject to final decommitment and approval.
The contract is to be awarded by negotiated procedure with a prior public competition, i.e. each tenderer wishing to participate in the procurement procedure must submit a written request no later than the date specified in point IV.3.4. The request to participate must be sent in writing to the address indicated in I.1 (Tenders/requests to participate). The request to participate must be accompanied by the documents required under point III.
