Description

The Regional Project on Peace and Security in the Great Lakes Region (GLR) co-funded by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) aims to contribute to the consolidation of peace and stability by strengthening the secretariat of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) to implement the pact on security, stability and development in the Great Lakes Regions and its protocols. As part of the conflict prevention dimension of the project and following a joint planning workshop with the ICGLR partners, it was agreed to develop a comprehensive multi-level and gender-responsive mediation strategy to support peace and security efforts at both inter-state and intra-state levels, including local, national and regional levels.
