Drumul se desfăşoară pe raza a două judeţe:
- în judeţul Sibiu de la km 60+711până la km 82+329;
- în judeţul Mureş de la km 82+329 până la km 98+023.
Lungimea drumului DJ 106, supus reabilitării, este de 37,312 km și se află între km 60+711, la ieşirea din oraşul Agnita, până la km 98+023, la intrarea în municipiul Sighişoara. Prin prezentul proiect se vor reabilita 36,879 km, iar restul de 0,400 km vor fi reabilitați din alte fonduri.
