Germany-Gütersloh: Urban planning and landscape architectural services
The city of Gütersloh intends to redesign the railway station environment and the ‘Willy Brandt Square’ on the basis of the integrated concept of action – 2020+ ‘Active City Centre Gütersloh’. The heterogeneous structure of the city centre will be reorganised in the first phase of the competition. These include the optimisation of traffic flows and pedestrian crossings, including by shifting the ZOB to today’s Postareal, as well as increasing the quality of stay and positioning in line with the function. The upgrading of the Willy Brandt Square will be the focus of the second phase of competition.
The contest aims to identify qualified solutions and a suitable team as contractor for the planning services. The competition is therefore aimed at interdisciplinary consortia of city planners and landscape architects. Following the contest, a negotiated procedure under the VgV 2016 will be conducted with the winners.
