Description

Gothenburg’s Botanska Garden is to build new greenhouses with a new visitors’ centre.
New greenhouses with an integrated visitors’ centre are a prerequisite for Botterian to be strengthened as a visitors’ destination while ensuring the unique garden plant collections over time and accessibility, working environment and energy efficiency. New greenhouses with visitors’ centres will offer an attractive visitor management all year round.
The Botsanical Garden’s mission includes the dissemination of knowledge on biodiversity. In this work, the proper functioning of greenhouses with visitors’ centres is a crucial factor. It requires a high standard of plant collections and an opportunity to pass on knowledge to visitors of all ages and needs, both physically and linguistically.
Future greenhouses will contribute to the buoyancy of the garden in order to maintain its prominent position at national and international level, both in research, popular education and as part of the hospitality sector in the region.
