United Kingdom-Bristol: Social work and related services
Bristol City Council intends to recommission a Childcare Development and Sustainability Service.
Under the Childcare Act 2006 Local Authorities are required to secure sufficient childcare, so far as is reasonably practicable, for working parents, or parents who are studying or training for employment, for children aged 0-14 (or up to 18 for disabled children).
Bristol City Council fulfils this duty by commissioning a Childcare Development and Sustainability Service to secure improved outcomes for families, children and young people through access to sufficient high quality, sustainable and affordable childcare provision, in Out of School Clubs, Breakfast Clubs, Holiday Play schemes, Schools and Early Years Settings.
The provider will work with key strategic partners to provide support, advice and training to current and prospective childcare providers on the development, sustainability, registration and safeguarding / welfare requirements for early years and childcare provision.
