Description

The Neubrandenburg transport companies operate public transport in the city of Neubrandenburg. On a total of 11 lines, the NVB transports up to 20,000 passengers a day with currently 30 vehicles. The SaubfahrzeugBeschG obliges the public authorities to procure at least 45% low- and zero-emission vehicles by 31.12.2025. By the end of 2030, this rate will increase to 65% of new purchases. A feasibility study commissioned to the Fraunhofer Institute has recommended the use of electric drives as a suitable emission-free future technology due to the operational and local conditions for the Neubrandenburg transport companies.
